Saint Cast House located in Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, France designed by Feld Architecture
“Extension of a typical villa resort style in 1900, the project brings all the qualities of space and openness of contemporary architecture. The main volume is treated as an object, fully dressed zinc shingles fashioned customized, including the lay stone reminds of the old house. The development of many construction details and their implementation required a real goldsmith work.
Put on a dark basement, the extension is to be suspended. Many openings illuminate the interior spaces, which are thus bathed in light throughout the day and enjoy sweeping views of the garden.
The structure of the extension is in timber frame for the upper part and the concrete bottom. Its enhanced ecological insulation is covered with a quartz pre-patinated zinc skin facades and anthracite for the roof. All façade details, joinery, railings, as well as steel and ceramic fireplace was designed by the agency.”
