Rupert Murdoch’s $57.25 Million One Madison triplex penthouse

Media official Rupert Murdoch is in contract to purchase the main four stories of new Manhattan townhouse building One Madison, a representative for Mr. Murdoch said. Mr. Murdoch, 82, will pay $57.25 million for the downtown spread, by with learning of the buy. The deal is set to close one week from now.
Mr. Murdoch purchased floors 57 to 60, which add up to 10,160 square feet, from the designer. They incorporate two units: a 6,850-square-foot triplex penthouse that had been available for $50 million, and a three-room condo on the floor underneath that had been recorded for $16.5 million, said Leslie Wilson, senior VP of offers at Related Companies and executive of offers at One Madison. The two condo are detached, yet could without much of a stretch be consolidated, Ms. Wilson said.
The penthouse has five rooms and 5½ bathrooms, with a 586-square-foot wraparound porch. Floor-to-roof windows offer perspectives of the Hudson and East streams, the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center. The condo has an interior private lift.
One Madison, a 60-unit tower being produced by Related, is situated at the southeast corner of Madison Square Park, with a passageway on 22nd Street. Development on the pleasantries and hall of the building will be finished this spring, Related said.
Ms. Wilson said eight units of the 60 are still accessible, including a duplex flat for $37.5 million.
