Description:
A one-bedroom guest house in a lush and wooded area alongside the historic Old Albany Post Road. In order to strengthen the connection of the house to its surrounding environment, the structure is sliced in half, pushing interior spaces out and inviting exterior materials in. The combination of new and native materials like compressed paper, salvaged oak, corten and blackened steel, bluestone and acid etched glass exemplify the context-driven contemporary design.
